Our Fleet
The club’s fleet consists of:
- Seventeen Albacores (small open dinghies). Learn more about Albacores here. They are fast but forgiving, very suitable for teaching, and carry two or three sailors. These boats are very exciting in higher winds. Albacore sailors should expect to get wet while sailing and be able to move around the boat quickly.
- Four 21′ Sirius sailboats – More relaxing and slower paced sailing. You will learn to sail and also some additional skills such as docking, motoring, and anchoring. Can carry 4 when teaching (1 skipper, 3 crew) and at other times up to 6 max.
- 3 Laser I dinghies – These boats are designed for a solo sailor. They have one sail but don’t let that fool you. In heavy air they can be a handful but handled well, they can be very fast and exciting. These boats are for the use of skippers and FM’s only.
- One Laser II dinghy. This boat is like the Laser I but is for two people and has a trapeze!
- A 15′ Aluminum safety/coaching boat (aka Elmer).
During the winter time, our Fleet Captain(s) head up work parties to go over the fleet. All maintenance work is performed by Club Members in order to keep costs down and ready our fleet for the next season.
