Come Prepared
What to wear sailing?
Clothing is dictated by the weather. In the heat of the summer, shorts, T-shirts, non-marking/non-slip shoes, a cap, and sunscreen is the norm. In the early and late part of the season when the weather can be a bit cooler, wet/dry suits and windbreakers will keep you warm. A raincoat can be worn as sailing is typically a wet sport. Sailing gloves are also very helpful. If you are sailing Albacores, come prepared to get wet which means you may want to bring a change of clothes.
The Club supplies a personal flotation devices (PFD), approved by Transport Canada, which must be worn at all times on the water when sailing in club dinghies and upon skippers request on large boats.
